We call the Operations Department for an update during the morning of delivery day to check that all is running according to schedule. We can call the driver of the truck by mobile phone if a more current update is required. Our staff can be contacted by mobile phone if there is a delay. Nobody wants the staff to be waiting for the truck to arrive. We do aim to have you comfortably in your new home on the first night.

We will call the removal company to be advised on the number of boxes. We can advise you on the number of staff required to do a complete unpack based on a breakdown of the box number. We estimate that one staff member can unpack approximately 35 standard boxes or 40 book boxes in 8 hours. We can also prioritise the unpack according to your requirements.

Yes our staff are experienced, professional unpackers. They are people who like to help people and feel a great sense of satisfaction in assisting you in setting up your new home. We often suggest stick-it labels on cupboards or the staff can happily work from written directions.

In our experience, an hour into the unpack the most reluctant clients have relaxed and some have even commented that they are no longer needed and have gone out. We often hear clients comment that they will never move again without using the Movinghouse unpackers.

We are happy to work from photographs that we can take before the move.

You really can leave it to our experienced staff to organise your new home. We can set aside difficult to place items for your return. We ask you for a contact number and can call you if necessary. Again, we are happy to work from stick-it labels left on cupboards and drawers or from instructions mailed to us.

We are happy to work alongside the removal company teams and assist them where possible. We like to start in the kitchen which is usually not in the main thoroughfare used by the delivery team. We request that kitchen boxes come off the truck first, where possible.

We do wipe over shelves and cupboards before items are placed. If more than this is required we suggest you have a specialized cleaning service the day before moving day.

We discuss with you the best place to store the paper and boxes until collection. The delivery team will take as much as possible with them on the truck on delivery day. We can call the removal company on completion to ask for a collection as soon as possible.

Our staff are happy to extend the time if at all possible or they can return the following morning to complete the unpack.

We show you the breakage and will cover the cost of repair or replacement.

We work frequently with young Mums. With a furniture plan on each room’s door the men will know where to place the furniture. We can help you with the furniture placement if it doesn’t look quite right. Our experienced “staff mums” are happy to amuse a toddler if you need a couple of minutes with the removal supervisor.

We are unpacking professionals. There really is a logical order to placing possessions in a home. Our Team Leader will walk with you through the house and take note on how you would like each storage unit filled. If an item is difficult to place we will put it to one side for you to direct its placement.

Any obvious rubbish such as broken plastic forks, crumpled band – aids, empty tubes of medicine etc. are put aside for you to go through to give the final decision to throw out.

You can book a professional picture hanger for moving day; or a week later to give you time to think about placement. We do have a list of recommended tradespeople we can recommend for any electrical, plumbing, gardening or carpentry needs.

Yes, we do work on weekends and holidays but we do add a surcharge.
